TeachAbility

Elevate equity, Leverage strengths,  Empower students.

Our Vision

We believe that empowering communities means providing accessible education for all students that is rigorous, appropriate, and leverages strengths that each student brings. Our goal is to do this by creating pathways to success for every student by redefining the learning landscape for all students.

About

Meet Ali Wilson, Ed.D.

I started TeachAbility in 2023 in my 18th year of working in education. It all began in 2006 when I worked as a paraprofessional for a student with autism. That experience ignited my passion for inclusive literacy instruction. Over the years, I progressed from being a teacher to an assistant professor, and eventually a consultant.

Over the last decade, I've had the opportunity to collaborate with various types of schools, including charter, independent, and district schools. My focus has always been on fostering inclusive and equitable environments for diverse learners. I firmly believe that change begins with envisioning a better future. As a leader coach, I facilitate the transformation of these visions into tangible outcomes, guiding the process from conception to data analysis, and actively reassessing systems to better support all students.

TeachAbility was created to maximize the potential of all learners. When we limit our expectations of what students can achieve based on labels like an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or categorical status, we unintentionally restrict their potential. I also stress the importance of acknowledging the difference between our intentions and the actual impact of our actions. Often, despite our best efforts, there are hidden obstacles preventing students from thriving.

Our Mission: TeachAbility works alongside educators to assess systems that support diverse learners, identify and dismantle barriers, and refine systems to support learning for all so that every student receives high-quality, inclusive education. TeachAbility’s approach is flexible and tailored to each school's unique needs. I collaborate closely with school leaders, teachers, and other stakeholders to bring about positive change.
