What I Do

Practical, actionable coaching & support

TeachAbility partners with districts, schools, and state agencies to bridge the gap between research and classroom practice. I help leaders and educators build coherent systems, shift mindsets, and create inclusive literacy practices that work for all learners — especially those who have historically been underserved.

Whether you need coaching, professional learning, content development, or a fresh look at your instructional materials, I offer simple, actionable solutions that move the work forward.

Why It Works

Designed & proven to create lasting change

I know what it's like to be in the trenches. As a former teacher, assistant professor and longtime consultant, I've helped schools and systems tackle complex challenges with empathy, clarity, and consistency.

Over my two decades in classrooms, doing research, and partnering with schools, I’ve seen a recurring theme: a disconnect between what’s written in policy and what actually works in practice.

Districts often adopt research-based programs that look good on paper, but teachers struggle to implement them in real classrooms. Leaders are overwhelmed by compliance checklists and competing initiatives. What’s written rarely accounts for capacity, context, or students’ actual needs.

That’s where I come in. I help schools close the gap between guidance and action. I take what’s in the curriculum guide and support teams to implement it — in bite-sized, feasible, empowering ways that create lasting change.
